With the holidays here and everyone getting a haircut to look their best for the family gatherings, I thought it was a good time to answer a basic haircut question I have often seen.
I have seen search terms for “can a woman get her haircut at a barbershop”? I suppose many ladies may wonder that because an old fashioned type of barber shop is seen as a place only men go to.
They do specialize in basic men’s hair styles and shaves. Not many ladies need a shave! They also do a lot of military haircuts, buzzcuts and other very short styles of haircuts.
But the answer is yes, women can and do get haircuts at barbershops all the time. Here at Conway Village Barber Shop we have many lady customers. Many come in with their husbands and both get a haircut at the same time.
We have lady barbers who know all about cutting women’s’ hair. Most barbershops, including ours, do not offer coloring hair or perms. But they offer great basic haircuts for ladies.
Barbers are experts at doing clean, neat cuts that are great for short hair styles like undercuts, fades and pixies. A bob style haircut is one that barbers do very well.
Barbershops also tend to cost less than salons for a women’s haircut. They don’t have the overhead of all that special equipment for coloring, perms and so on. A barber shop will save you money!
Barbershops are also quicker to give you a haircut. You can often walk right in without an appointment and get your hair done fast. Many salons want you to make an appointment a month or more in advance!
So if you have a short or medium length hairstyle and don’t need it colored, a barbershop is a great place to get a quick, cheap ladies haircut without the hassles and fuss upscale salons have.
