Pros And Cons Of Getting A Shaved Head!

The pros and cons of getting your head shaved.

It’s the week after the big 250th Fourth of July birthday celebration! I hope everyone had a good time and saw some great firework shows. I myself stayed home, I’m not big on fighting Orlando’s traffic! I did see and hear some nice displays in my local hood however.

Anyways it is shaping up to be a really hot summer here in Orlando, Florida. So hot you may be wondering about how you would look like with a bald, shaved head. A shaved head is much more in style these days than they use to be. They are a bold, confident look.

We can do full head shaves here at Conway Village Barber Shop. Just ask for Steve; he has been doing them for many years! Cooling you off is just one of the many pros of getting a shaved head. However there are a few cons also. So below is some pros and cons of getting your head shaved.

Pros of getting a shaved head

  • A shaved head cools you off as much as you can get with any haircut. I always feel cooler after a nice short haircut. A full head shave takes it a step more.

  • No bad hair days! Once you wake up in the morning you’re already set. Just take a shower, towel your head dry and your ready for the day.

  • You save time and money. Drying your head after a shower is fast, plus no combing, styling or blow drying your hair. You save money on more expensive haircuts, hair products and hair dying.

  • A bald shaved head is more in style these days. It projects confidence in yourself, dominance and maturity. Plus lots of ladies think it looks sexy! You can never have enough of that, at least I know I can’t! 🙂

  • A full head shave solves the problem of receding hairlines, thinning hair and bald patches. A uniform head shave mask all of those problems and makes you look better.

Cons of getting a shaved head

  • A bald head is prone to sunburn and can get sensitive in too much sunlight. Applying sunscreen to your scalp is a must, especially here in Florida.

  • To keep that smooth, shaved look you have to shave your head frequently, every 2 to 3 days or so.

  • All that shaving can give you razor burn, cuts and ingrown hairs if you are not using a sharp razor and proper scalp friendly lotions.

  • Different head shapes look better or worst with a bald head. You may have a head shape that does not look as good bald as other head shapes.

So there you have it, the pros and cons of getting your head shaved bald. The nice thing about it is that if you find it’s not for you, it will grow back! Or perhaps you will find you look good with a very short buzz cut; one step away from completely bald.

If you can’t decide, come on into Conway Village Barber Shop sometime and talk to Steve. He can give you a lot of advice about it. Whatever you decide to do, our master barbers can do it and make you look good and sexy! 🙂
