I can’t believe it is already the 4th of July today! But yes it is, and not just any 4th of July but the 250th birthday of America. It was July 4th, 1776 that the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress.
So there will be a lot of extra special events and fireworks all across the country this year to celebrate. The Orlando area has tons of Independence day activities and fireworks scheduled for today. I made a list of the best ones a few days ago you can check out here and see.
The theme parks always have the biggest and best fireworks of course. But the amount of people and traffic will be horrendous. If you don’t mind large crowds however you will see some amazing fireworks. Downtown at Lake Eola is always popular too.
But there are dozens of other places around Orlando offering good food, music, games and more as well as a fireworks finale. Again check out my link above to see some of them. A lot of people like to just stay home and shoot off fireworks in their driveway or road.
It seems like every neighborhood has a family or two that shoots off a lot of fireworks. Please be careful if you do that however. Every year many get hurt with fireworks so play it safe. Also if you have pets please keep them inside tonight as the noise really upsets them.
I myself will stay home and walk around several blocks checking out the local firework displays. Forget about going to bed early tonight!
