Hello everyone! March is almost over and spring is almost here. Spring is for new beginnings and new things. So it is fitting that Conway Village Barber Shop has a few new services to offer!
One of them is that we now have a nice new shampoo station so you can get your hair shampooed and washed. We did not have a proper shampoo sink until a few weeks ago. So now you can get your hair washed and shampooed as part of your visit.
The other service we can now offer is thanks to our newest hair stylist, Anna! She joined our barbershop about four months ago. With over 20 years of haircut experience, she can do just about anything.
Anna does all kinds of normal haircut styles, shampoo, fades, skin fades and hair coloring. Men, women and kids of all ages can get a great haircut and more from her. Now she is offering a new service here at Conway Village Barber Shop; ear and nose hair waxing removal!
What is ear and nose hair waxing?
I’m sure you have heard of eyebrow waxing, but you may be surprised that you can get your ear and nose hair waxed also. Let me explain the process so you can understand it better and see if it is something you may want to try!
Ear hair waxing
With ear waxing, a high quality hard wax that is warm but not hot is applied with a special tool to the outer ear area and a little bit inside the ear entrance. You don’t want it too far inside the ear to avoid damage to the inside.
Once the wax is cooled it is pulled off quickly, pulling all ear hair attached to it off down to the roots. It is actually pretty painless, as the ear does not have too many pain sensors. At least in the area that will be waxed.
Since the hairs are pulled out by the roots the area remains hair free for several weeks. It leaves a clean, smooth surface with no stubble or itching, which you get with just trimming the hair. Nice! 🙂
Nose hair waxing
For nose hair waxing, the process is much the same as ear waxing. A special warm hard wax is applied to the outside edges and lower inside area of the nose with a special tool. You don’t want to wax too far inside the nose, only the lower visible hairs.
Once the wax is cooled it is quickly pulled off, taking any hairs attached with it, right down to the roots. Because of that the area can remain hair free for 4-6 weeks. The area will be clean and smooth, unlike trimming which leaves stubble.
Nose hair waxing is a bit more painful than ear waxing unfortunately. The nose is a bit more sensitive to pain, so you may feel a sharp, quick sting! However it will not last long and you will be hair free for several weeks.
There is a chance of side effects such as irritation, infection and sensitivity. Which is why it is best to let a professional like Anna do this type of waxing for you, instead of doing it yourself at home.
